Farewell as your Town Administrator
By Gregory T. Federspiel
June 27, 2025
In some ways it does not seem possible, but the day has arrived. After 12 years serving as Town Administrator (and 36 in the profession all together) I am retiring and handing the baton to my successor, Tony Barletta, who officially takes over July 1. I wish him and the community the best going forward. Many exciting (and challenging!) projects await. It has been an honor to serve the community and there is much that I will miss. But the grandchildren call, and it is time to bring in fresh perspectives to the position.

Project Updates
By Gregory T. Federspiel
There are many important projects in various stages that the Town has in the works. The following provides a status report on many of them.
Pleasant Street Paving: The end of the construction efforts along Pleasant Street are in sight, after new water and sewer mains were installed along with improved drainage. The final coat of asphalt for both the street and sidewalks should be in place by the end of June. The street should not need to see any more work for years to come.

Volunteers needed!
By Gregory T. Federspiel
The Town relies heavily on a large contingent of volunteers to help run the community. Over 200 volunteers serve on a wide range of boards and committees from the Affordable Housing Trust to the Zoning Board of Appeals. I have written before on the importance of citizen volunteers and the role they play, and I am writing again to remind everyone of the importance of volunteering to help advance solutions to the challenges facing Manchester.
